Zell was an orphan since he was born, but adopted by his Ma and Pa when he was about five. His Pa worked as a police officer and kept a strict, no-nonsense household, trying to raise Zell with a sense of discipline. When Zell was about 10 his Pa was killed when the police got between two mob families shooting it out. Zell’s Ma raised him on her own after that, doing all the things a mother should. She couldn’t protect Zell from the cruelty of other children, so Zell had to learn how to fight to survive the playground. What started as a few self-defense classes from the gym teacher after school turned into an obsession and a passion for boxing and martial arts. Zell never managed to be any more popular, and wound up dropping out of high school to complete his GED at home.

Now with a high school diploma, Zell is looking for any kind of work he can do. While he wants to stay on the straight and narrow in his Pa’s honor, he’s also thought about going into the mob. Power is always attractive to people who feel like they’ve been persecuted. It just all depends on who makes the best offer the soonest.
